Five Rows Craft Wine of Lowrey Vineyards

Our Craft

In the summer of 2001, standing alone amidst the oldest of our grapevines, feeling a deep connection to the land and to the past, I decided to start my own winery. I was working that morning in our original five rows of Pinot Noir, when it hit me that this work would not be truly satisfying unless I could eventually make my own wine from this fruit. It was my belief that we could craft a spectacular wine in very small quantities while still producing exceptional fruit for our winery clients. This is the continuing story of building our winery from the vineyard up. Our thoughts, our goals, our decisions, the good days and bad days. Enjoy.

I’ve been trying to get in here for years but we’ve never timed our trips right and there always sold out or closed for the season, so I was ecstatic to get an appointment on this visit. They only had a couple of Rieslings and a Syrah available but all were excellent and we left with three cases. I’m definitely getting on the mailing list to try and grab the sauv blanc when the next vintage is ready! The staff were also awesome. Highly recommend - it’s worth the trip.

Happily visited lovely Lowrey family after a year and picked up my wonderful 2017 Syrah and Cab-Sauv s' and of course a few whites. As far as I have tried 2017 reds from neighbors' vinyards, I do beleive these bottles will need some good rest in my celar and as suggested by Wes, tannins will likely soften in 1-2 years. Looking forward to it :)

Our favorite wines are always those that are small production, attention to detail and those that have a story to tell. When you get the chance to meet a family passionate about what they do combined with superior quality wine, you can't help to say our visit was one of the highlights of our trip. Thank you Wilma for sharing your family story and taking the time for a lovely tour. We look forward to remembering our visit and all the hard work your family puts into each grape when we sip your gorgeous wines we are bringing home to enjoy.

$55 per bottle, no price list presented, they try hard (and succeed) to present nicely but the taste of the wine cannot possibly meet the value it costs. I'm going to age the bottles I bought for 10 years before I drink them as I think they will age nicely.

This boutique winery is a hidden gem. Not on the winery tour maps, it's a fifth generation vineyard run by a family that does everything from harvesting the grapes to managing the tasting room. They sell out quickly so we weren't able to try the Sauvignon Blanc but loved the Syrah and ended up buying a bottle. Bottle prices are premium but the tasting is complimentary.
