First Choice Hair

I took my daughter there for the 1st time and we had an appointment with Laura. She was great and very nice. My daughter was so happy with her cut.

yesterday I had amazing Highlights done by Jade. she was helpful in deciding what would best suit me and my hair. the end result was better then i expected. loved chatting with her and defiantly will be back again

I’m really disappointed with my experience. From the beginning, the stylist (Jade) was very rough with my hair, which immediately made me uncomfortable. She was also very quiet and not personable, which made the appointment feel awkward rather than welcoming. My highlights were not done properly — they are not in a consistent line, there is a large incorrect chunk in the front, and several large sections of dark hair were completely missed and not touched with the highlighter at all. When it came to the haircut, I specifically asked for my bangs to be shaped to suit my face. Instead, a section of hair that was not part of my bangs was cut. It’s very noticeable, and I’ve had to keep it tucked behind my ear to hide it. I also asked for layers, which were done very poorly and unevenly. Throughout the appointment, I felt more like a mannequin than a client. During the blow-dry, Jade used her fingers instead of a brush, and my hair repeatedly got caught in her hands, causing pulling and actual pain. She also burned my scalp with the blow dryer by repeatedly directing hot air onto the same spot on my head. I did consider returning to have the issues fixed. However, based on the stylist’s demeanor during my appointment and the amount of pain I experienced, I was not comfortable with her touching my hair again. I also did not feel it was fair to expect another stylist to fix her mistakes at no charge. It’s taken me some time to write this review, as I was honestly in disbelief afterward. However, after friends saw my hair and confirmed that the techniques used were not proper, they encouraged me to share my experience. Given this visit, along with issues I’ve had with First Choice in the past, I’ve finalized my decision not to return. For all of these reasons, I won’t be back.
