Elizabeth Street Pumphouse (Town of Grimsby)

Nice spot to see the lake and Forty Creek. Plenty of ducks and geese here as well. Very historic location.

I went here for a baby shower. Have never been there and didn’t even know it existed. It is a very nice place and beautiful surroundings.

Great hall for renting. It's clean and a very pretty place for pictures. Also a great spot to go and just sit peacefully and enjoy the views.

The Pump House is an interesting building similar in part to the one at Niagara-on-the-Lake. I am curious about the history of the building as I do not recall seeing information on the building. Wonder what happened to the pump that was inside? I like what they did at the other Pumphouse by displying it outside. There was a kids program going on at the time of the visit, so we did not go inside. We could hear the acoustics from inside, which sounded very interesting. There are a number of attractions here in a small area. The pumphouse, the Indigenous history, the War of 1812, Colonial history, the water of the Lake and 40 creek, the birds, the trees, and a trail that has a surprise near the end.

A very congested QEW and some impatient kids resulted in a very nice surprise. This little place in Grimsby provided us an excellent place to stretch our legs, escape of the heat and finish our day with a smile. Just be aware about the pockets of mosquitoes :b
