I want to be completely honest about how I feel regarding the missed appointment fee. I understand policies exist, but I need you to understand the real impact this has on some patients. For me—and likely for many others—$50 is not a small inconvenience. It can equal weeks of groceries, and for some people, even one missed appointment fee can prevent them from getting necessary dental care. I show up consistently, and I respect your time, but punishing patients with a fixed fee without considering financial reality feels unfair. Even a few missed appointments a month have minimal impact on your practice, but the same fee can be life-altering for a patient like me. I’m not asking for special treatment; I’m asking for recognition that this policy disproportionately affects those who can least afford it. A compassionate approach could prevent people from skipping care entirely, which I believe benefits both patients and your practice in the long run. Thank you for understanding.

This past month I've had several dental procedures done at the Downtown Dental Centre by Dr. Amika and I must say that I am very pleased with everyone involved in my visits. From Taylor, the receptionist, who has no problem with getting and/or changing my appointments, to Tuma the dental assistant who has a very caring and gentle manner. Tuma went out of her way to provide a comfortable environment for me with music and maybe a working TV next time (lol) so that I can relax. Dr. Amika is always smiling and friendly which puts you at ease and is very professional, answering all questions as well as caring. She treats you with respect as a person and not just a patient. The atmosphere was incredibly warm and welcoming. Dr. Amika took the time to answer all my questions with kindness, and my daughter felt completely comfortable during the entire visit. She had no concerns at all. The staff was also exceptionally kind and attentive to her.
