This place was so delicious! Visiting Niagara from Chicago, we stopped here because we were hungry and needed something close - wound up being much better than we hoped for! Best cabbage I’ve had in my life! Everything was fresh and hot. Very reasonable prices and amazing, friendly, casual service. 10/10 recommend!

I was so happy to see a Jamaican restaurant just minutes after entering Canada. The food was so good as was the service. The lady who prepared our food was so sweet. The prices and portions were also good. If you're in the area, definitely check this place out.

DON'T....SLEEP....ON....THIS....SPOT.... phewwwww.... Saturday 6/15, we were in Toronto but came out to Niagara Falls to the Peller Estates Winery. Their Winery tour is great. We left wanting some real authentic food. My sister typed in OXTAILS NEAR ME and Chubbie's came up that we were 15-20 minutes away from the spot. She got the confirmation that it'd be a little tight but all 10 of us could get up in there to sit down and eat. We drove out there and it was packed with all shapes, sizes and colors. I say that is a beautiful thing to see when many nationalities hit up one spot. Those tastebuds aint gone lie !! And mine got to experience the authentic cooking of Mrs Chubbie ... Chubb with the IE.... Everything..no ebree ting was good. My family had oxtails, fried chicken, jerk chicken, oxtails, rice/peas and the cabbage..... OH....MY.... *clasping hands and deepiy inhaling*.... MMMPHT....MMMPHTT...MMMPHT.... I placed an order for two plates of oxtails with the thought I KNOW IT'S GONNA BE GOOD FROM SEEING ALL THESE FOLKS IN FRONT OF ME ORDER OXTAILS ..I WANNA EAT OXTAILS TOMORROW FOR BREAKFAST WITH AN OMELETTE. I'M GLAD I DID.... IT WAS DE..LISH...US.......AND THE SUNDAY MORNING'S BREAKFAST WAS TOO. Jamal is the man. He was very courteous and made sure we were taken care of while waiting for the orders and while we ate. Mrs. Chubbie is that woman...... She can cook !!! If you happen to be there looking at the Falls, just go ahead and venture on down the strip further to get into the strip area of shops where Chubbies is. You WONT be disappointed. You'd ride right on by if no one told you..... So, I'm telling you. And here are the progression of Large oxtail breakfast pictures. I was flying through the first 6 oxtails and started finding oxtail pieces in the rice like a treasure scavenger hunt. I started getting excited because I got good nuggets. Then I sped back up and kept finding meat that had fallen off of the bone because they were so tender they landed deep in the rice. Anyway........ this is the spot.

"The Goat Curry, a symphony of spices" Loud Stupes! Google reviews you LIED again. Being satisfied with what I read, I decided Chubbies would be my chef tonight... there were about 4 options for Jamaican food In Niagara Falls and environs (FYI). It PAINS me to write reviews which could potentially hurt a business but we have a responsibility to be truthful. Regardless if the lady at the counter was very friendly and generally conversational.. with a smile! The food was SALTY! I mean really salty. To the point I could not finish any of the two combos I purchased. Now it could be argued that the portion size were huge, but if you notice the prices in the included in one of the images, you'll realize that it's relative to the cost you pay. The curry goat dinner had a somewhat suspect yellowish color (heavy on turmeric) and lacked any depth of flavor. To be honest you hardly tasted the spices which makes up a curry powder. Cooked to perfection as the meat didn't need any effort from a knife, fork or teeth to fall off and it's always a pleasure when you don't have to ask for extra gravy. Oxtail and Rice. So close to being good, but again the salt was a detriment! A lovely flavor once you got past the salt and like the curry goat, fork tender and nuff gravy! A little heavy on what tasted like poultry or all-purpose seasoning though (maybe that's where the sodium excess if coming from?) and I wished I got more of a pimento undertone.. that Jamaican food is synonymous for. The rice and peas which came with every combo suffered from the salty taste. Now I could be wrong about the rice being salty, but with the meat (oxtail and goat) and gravy on... covering things, it was difficult to tell. Rice was shelly (meaning, not sticky) and it had a lovely color. Cabbage was ok and while you get a few pieces of plantain with each meal, they could use a few days more of ripening before being fried. I didn't ask, but I never saw an option to add pepper sauce (bottles on the counter) to your meal. Excellent service and if they work on the salt issue (the chef must love salt as everything tasted salty) and kick up the curry game, they would seriously be worth supporting again. Note! I wasn't the only one who tasted and agreed, that the curry goat needed work and the salt issue.

Saw this Jamaican restaurant while walking in Niagara Falls and we stopped in for a bite. So glad we did! We both ordered the Jerk Chicken (one small and none medium order) … it was the best we e had in a long time! Flavourful, Spivey and absolutely delicious. The plantains … so yummy! The portions are large (even the small), the lady we served us was so welcoming and kind. Even on a busy holiday (Canada Day), service was quick and friendly. If you’re in Niagara Falls, and love 🇯🇲 Jamaican cuisine, you MUST try this place! Highly recommended.
