As a wedding photographer, I love Cherry Avenue Farms for the relaxed, unpretentious atmosphere it offers throughout the day. The ceremony space is beautiful and thoughtfully set among mature trees, creating natural shade that’s especially appreciated during summer weddings, so the guests remain comfortable, which makes a big difference. There are plenty of options for photos, from open fields to the barn and surrounding buildings, each offering different textures and backdrops without feeling forced or repetitive. The bridal suite is another highlight. It’s bright, comfortable, and genuinely nice to spend time in, which always helps the morning feel calmer. The wedding I photographed was held in the tent, and it struck a perfect balance between simplicity and elegance. It felt effortless, intimate, and very true to the setting.

We recently had my daughter’s wedding at this cherry farm and it was amazing. The owner, Jen, couldn’t have been nicer and was so helpful with everything that went on. It was a perfect venue for my daughter’s special day. The setting is beautiful, we had the ceremony on the front lawn, a cocktail hour under the trees and the reception in the converted barn. It was beautiful. If you are looking for the perfect venue for a wedding or celebration of any kind I highly recommend Cherry Avenue Farms

We were there on Labour Day and picked peaches blue plums and nectarines. My family had a great time picking the fruits and eating them. The fruits were so tasty that I would like to return to this farm to pick some more if I am in the area. Make sure to check their website first for opening days and hours.

From downtown Toronto, just a little over an hour’s drive and you’ll find yourself in fruit-picking paradise. Entry is simple: grab a basket (2L for $8, or 3L for $15 to share) and hop on the tractor ride that shuttles guests between orchards. The bumpy ride itself feels refreshing when you’re used to city life. Currently in season: peaches (white & yellow), nectarines, and plums. We went straight for the peaches — the white ones especially stand out as sweeter and juicier 😋. Pro tip: look for fruit higher up on sun-kissed branches, slightly soft at the bottom, with a creamy white or golden hue rather than deep red. Nectarines are just a touch less sweet, but equally fresh and juicy. We picked and tasted freely in the orchard (yes, you can snack as you go!), and after a few bites you’re filled with pure fruit freshness. For plums, the best are the deeper purple ones with a natural frosty coating — those turned out to be delicious after a couple of days of ripening at home. Tip: check the opening days before you go — cherry season is in July, peaches and plums run from mid-August through September. Soon after, the orchard usually closes for the year, so catch the last window if you can. Freshly picked fruit really does taste like summer bottled up. Highly recommended for a weekend escape!

We had the most incredible experience having our wedding at Cherry Avenue Farms. From day one, Jen and Tom made us feel so welcomed and supported — never any pressure, just pure excitement and love for what they do. You can tell they genuinely care about every couple who gets married there, and that meant the world to us. The venue itself is stunning — the tent is even more beautiful in person — and we were able to add personal touches like a tractor ride, lawn games, and use of the getting-ready suite, which made the day so special (our guests are still talking about it!). Jen was so patient with all of our questions, sent us helpful info ahead of time, and worked seamlessly with our other vendors to bring our vision to life. We also loved being able to drop things off early to make setup stress-free, and the decor options they offer (like candle holders and lights) really elevated the vibe as the day turned into night. The groomsmen stayed at their nearby Airbnb, which was cozy and perfect for a bonfire the night before. If we could do it all over again, we would in a heartbeat. It was cozy, magical, and truly unforgettable. Can’t wait to come back and pick fruit someday with our future family and relive the memories. Thank you Jen and Tom — 10/10 doesn’t even begin to describe how grateful we are!
