This place has been around for a long time. I’ve dined in occasionally but usually order takeout. It’s one of the few spots where you can reliably get Chinese-style BBQ skewers. Today my friend and I met up to eat in, and the experience was much better than takeout. The hot dishes came out with that perfect wok char, and even the cold appetizers were nicely done. My friend finally ordered the hot and sour glass noodles she had been craving👌we both left very satisfied.
View on GoogleThis was my second and last visit to Dear Mr. Chef Mi. I wasn't overly impressed the first time, but I thought I would give them another chance. I ordered the Lotus Root Dry Spice—it was just "meh," earning a 5/10. I also ordered a few other dishes, such as the Vegetable Noodles. I actually had to go back and look at the photo and description again because what I received was overcooked and extremely greasy—EXTREMELY! The description claims the dish features "firm noodles" and "fresh, colorful vegetables," but it was hard to even find the veggies. The Garlic Shrimp was so chewy I thought they had tricked me into eating shrimp bubble gum. They tasted okay, but they were so overcooked I’d give them a 5/10. Now for what I was looking forward to the most: the Stir-Fried Green Beans. These were not edible! Three of us tried them, and not one of us could finish a single bean. If you mixed cardboard and leather together, it would have a better texture than these beans. They were very disappointing my guests refused to eat them and they went right in the trash. 0/10. Update: Thank you for your reply. Regarding the vegetable noodles, I said nothing about them steaming during transport. My point was that there was so much oil used it blew my mind—you definitely win the award for the greasiest noodles in St. Catharines. When I arrived, I waited an extra 10 to 15 minutes past my pickup time for the food to be ready, so the shrimp weren't sitting around getting tough. I live less than 5 minutes away and opened them as soon as I got home. They were overcooked at the restaurant. I honestly wish I had brought the beans back so you could see the quality for yourself. I am angry that I spent $70.00 on food that mostly went in the trash. A generic excuse of a reply is almost as frustrating as the meal was."
View on GoogleFood with a spice. Hot pepper beef packs some heat. Wish they remove the pepper seeds. Fried eggplants was okay. Sautéed shrimp was good. Shredded potatoes had a nice blend of sour and heat. Sautéed veggies was okay. Food is the best in St Catherine area. Service was friendly snd prompt. During December there is 3 hour free holiday meter parking.

View on GoogleTraveling here from NYC. We were SO SHOCKED to be able to find a Sichuan restaurant that is so authentic. See food we took, they look awesome and taste Great! If you like spicy food, or you are having fun at Niagara fall park but cannot find a great Chinese restaurant, come here, only 20 min drive away from the park area! Their food is inexpensive too!
