Beautiful shop. Super friendly owner. Full of real treasures. Worth a trip out of your way.
View on GoogleThank you Morgan! Always a great time to come to your book store. Great finds and you’re super helpful ! Today I got two tarot decks I’m so stoked about and a book for poems, humour, and learning about Wicca ! Highly recommend his book store !!
View on GoogleMy fiancé and I visited this shop looking to see if we could find some older books, holes in trilogies and other sets we have been collecting over the years. This place was pretty cool, and we came out with a bunch of great books we had been looking for. As we walked in we were instantly greeted by the owner, and there were detailed outlines and maps of the store all over the place. Everything was well organized and labelled, and we had no trouble at all in our search. It was calm, quiet, and the smell of paper and ink in the place is just, so nice. The store is huge, and filled with so many books it almost makes your head spin. A main floor area, an upper landing, an entire basement. I wish I had taken pictures, but it almost felt rude to do so and ruin the atmosphere. It was almost like a religious site, but for literature. Everyone who came in was so very quiet and respectful of others, it was great. Most of the books that we wanted were even at some very reasonable prices. Others unfortunately, were not. I think you have to be pretty desperate indeed (or devoted I suppose) to buy a book for nearly $200 when you can get the ebook online for a fraction of the cost. That was the one unpleasant aspect/experience of the store unfortunately. I understand wanting to make money, they are a business, but having desired stock listed for extremely high prices on Ebay, just doesn't feel good. Other than that though, I would recommend this place if only to see how vast and well organized the collection is. Even if you just go into the place to browse, you will probably walk out with a good book or two. Highly recommended.
View on GoogleSuper disappointing experience here. After digging around in this store for literally hours -- which was fun, there are tens of thousands of books here -- I brought a stack of books I'd found around the store to the checkout, only for the owner (I assume) to re-evaluate and re-price the books by searching online listings while I was standing there. This is a pretty lazy and greedy business practice. First off, he referred to listings on Abebooks that were still for sale, meaning these weren't prices that the book had SOLD for -- they were prices that sellers were listing them at, and these prices are often very inflated. These are prices that people AREN'T paying (considering they are all still for sale). Also, he made no effort to offer me a fair price. I would think that considering the fact that I was there, in the store, ready to make a purchase, the least he could do is offer me a realistic price, especially considering he didn't even know these books were down there and they probably would have collected dust for another couple years. I am not an online customer somewhere across the world. I dug through the store and found the books, only to be told "Unless you want to give me 1000 bucks..." Anyway, I don't expect this to be an issue for the average customer, but this is not a store where it's worth digging around. You will be gouged for anything remotely cool that is found. The owner's vibe was overall standoffish and not super welcoming. A waste of an afternoon spent here.
View on GoogleA gem that needs to be visited. A variety of books, grab a couple of books from the author Ken Follett. Morgan is always keeping me in mind and helping me complete my hardy boys' collection. Thank you for always helping out. See you soon.
