Me and my children stayed here and I must say we have received the best possible assistance they can give. The staff are the best, all warm and friendly and willing to go above and beyond to help you out. I am really thankful and grateful that we have been brought to Birchway.

I am currently staying here with my son, and my experience has been mixed — I’d rate it between 2–3 stars. The staff, while kind, often lack knowledge about important resources such as counseling, legal aid, housing, and other outside supports. Unfortunately, if they don’t know the answer, they usually won’t direct you to someone who can help. The exception has been the supervisor, who has truly been a saving grace. On the occasions I’ve spoken with her, she’s been incredibly helpful and, if she can’t provide the answer herself, she makes sure to point you in the right direction. That said, if you are struggling with your mental health or feeling very vulnerable, I would caution you to carefully reconsider. Support here is minimal unless you’re able to strongly advocate for yourself, and in some cases, the lack of guidance can make things harder rather than easier.

(((((((SO SORRY BY MISTAKE FIRST I thought I can trust I wrote this first review ))))))) This review is written by a lonely woman who couldn't sleep in the lonely alleys at night because of fear. I had no one but God until the Almighty opened a paradise for me in this house. In this safe haven, I saw staff same angels sent by God, and I experienced a love I had never received from my family. )))) This is my second review after one weeks : I must express my deepest gratitude and appreciation for all of this.you are my family Sorry I did mistake I understand this life never trust never Again abuse from shelter staff Tonight has been one of my darkest nights. As a mother who has endured sexual assault, beatings, and homelessness, I begged the staff to allow my son to stay with me. They provided a bassinet bed, which was delivered yesterday. I cleaned everything thoroughly, including the walls, until late into the night. Unfortunately, the staff member Lan informed me that if my 12-year-old son did not arrive at the shelter by 9:20 PM, his bed would be given to someone else. We arrived at 7:30 PM, and I requested dinner for my son, who was excited to see Niagara Falls. Lan said no, stating that Sandra had ordered that if I wasn't there by 9:20, the bed would be given to the girl waiting outside the door. This caused me a great deal of stress, and my son and I ended up hugging and crying together. I then took him to his father in Mississauga and returned to the shelter to ensure my belongings were intact To my dismay, there was no sign of any girl waiting outside, and I was unable to get Sandra’s contact information. Additionally, Lan had given me a blood-stained sheet the previous day and had mocked me during our first encounter. I am desperately seeking for help to find a better place. Respectfully

A very necessary and truly compassionate organization that provides counselling, aid and other forms of assistance to families in abusive relationships in the Niagara Falls area. I have volunteered for 8 years in various activities such as their annual Book Riot and monthly Bingo at Delta Bingo.

Birchway has been supportive to us throughout our unplanned exit, from reaching out to Legal aid, to housing, to Councelling, to OntarioWorks, alongwith relevant information to understand what Abuse really means.I am forever greatful to Birchway for their help.
