Switching my dog Tank to Big Country Raw has honestly made such a difference. Tank is a Frenchie and allergic to pretty much everything, so finding food that actually works for him has been a challenge. Since starting him on Big Country Raw, he’s noticeably less itchy, which has been a huge relief. His coat is incredibly soft now, and he has so much more energy throughout the day. You can just tell he feels better overall. I also really appreciate the quality of the ingredients and the variety of proteins available, which makes it easier to manage dogs with allergies. If you have a dog with sensitivities or allergies like mine, I would definitely recommend giving Big Country Raw a try.

I’ve been feeding my two dogs Big Country Raw for two years, and until recently, I was very satisfied with the quality. Over the last two months, however, I’ve noticed a concerning amount of bone shards in the raw food. This was not the case when I first started using their products. Due to this change in quality, I’ve stopped feeding it to my dogs. Has anyone else experienced this or know whether Big Country Raw has changed their recipe or processing methods? I will be reporting this to my pet food store as well.

I’ve been feeding Big Country Raw for about two years, and unfortunately the quality has noticeably declined over time. Several recent boxes from different purchases and batches have had visible frost and brown/grey corners even while still frozen. After thawing in the fridge, the food now becomes very soft, wet, and mushy within about 24 hours, and the structure of the meat breaks down far more than it used to. The food doesn’t smell spoiled, but the texture and appearance are not what I expect from high-quality raw food and raise concerns about temperature stability during shipping, storage, or packaging. Because this has happened multiple times and represents a clear change from past quality, I’ve decided to switch brands, which is disappointing since my cat previously did very well on BCR. Posting this so other pet owners are aware and in hopes that quality control and cold-chain handling are reviewed. Photos attached are from multiple packages purchased between October 2025 and January 2026, demonstrating recurring quality and texture issues across batches.

We switched our beautiful boy to Big Country Raw gently cooked beef after his cancer diagnosis, amputation and chemo. He absolutely loved it! Unfortunately, the cancer came back 7 months later and we had to say goodbye to him. I had an order that was supposed to be delivered the next day. With one email, BCR canceled and refunded the order, along with a very thoughtful sympathy message. First class company and staff.

I found a shard of glass inside a brand new, unopened packet of Big Country Raw – Breeder Blend. This is beyond unacceptable and represents a major food safety failure. If I had not noticed it before feeding, this could have caused severe internal injury or death to my animal. Raw food is purchased with the expectation of care, responsibility, and strict quality control—especially when animals cannot protect themselves. Finding glass in a product meant to nourish pets shows a dangerous lack of safety oversight. I was lucky to catch it. Others may not be. This could easily result in emergency vet visits or fatal harm. I am deeply concerned about how this could happen and what it says about their production standards. Pet owners deserve better than this. Use extreme caution.
