A warning and must read for all couples, families, and friends coming to shop at this store together, specifically for cards. I’ve shopped here several times and always enjoy supporting a local store, even when prices are a bit higher than others. Today, my fiancé and I made an impulse decision to stop in to look for some Pokémon packs. We were not expecting it, but were excited to see they had Ascended Heroes in stock, labeled clearly as “3 per customer.” That’s completely fair, especially shortly after release. My fiancé purchased three without issue. When I went to purchase my own three (as a separate paying customer), I was refused because we came in together. The posted sign explicitly said “3 per customer,” not “3 per family” or “3 per group.” When I pointed this out, I was told they would change the sign to say “per family” and I could not get them. Policies shouldn’t change mid-transaction, especially when the signage clearly states otherwise. To be clear, the original employee who initially helped us was friendly and did nothing wrong. The issue arose when a manager (or higher-level staff member) stepped in and overruled the purchase. It’s disappointing as a local, but the reality is there are plenty of other local card shops that do apply their posted policies consistently and welcome couples, families, and friends shopping together. I hope this store clarifies their policies moving forward to avoid similar situations for others because this one stung (pun intended).
View on GoogleFun met Reese very calmly passionate about what he does. He showed me around store since first time and I ended up feeling like I was in an epidsode of the Big Bang. Reese said that was his favourite show growing up. I did not find 7 of 9 or T'Pol or Enterprise 2001 stuff but Reese said he let me know but I ended up buying a Darth Vader helmet another cool character for my home office. Yes 60 year old enjoying retirement where I never had time to stop in before. Fun Store Thank you Reese !!!
View on GoogleChecked out this shop for the first time the other day and it was a really pleasant experience! They have a wide variety of toys/figures/collectibles and a well kept new releases/ongoing series section. Picked up a nice little haul and all the purchased comics were in excellent condition. Filing through their back issues, most items were in decent condition, even most of the REALLY old books. My only gripe with this shop is that their back issues are not super organized, but other than that it's a nice place!
View on GoogleNever has the new comics I am looking for. :( I’ve been here a couple of times and while it seems to have a slightly better selection than other Hamilton stores, I am always disappointed when trying to find new Wednesday monthly comics as it seems they really only stock Marvel/DC brand new series…if you want to find anything independent or in the “high numbers” (like issue 8 and up), you have to take the plunge and ask them to reserve new monthly issues in advance for you)—definitely not great if you don’t know about the system. I also find their shelving confusing as hell and it has the typical “hobby store” experience of having to wait for a regular to finish their long conversation with the clerk before they handle your purchase. Staff is friendly, selection is decent. I always try to spend my money at comic book stores first because these guys need help. 3/5
