I want to love them and they're pretty good, but a couple issues I've noticed that kinda spoil it for me: - the brisket was dry, even with the added 'juice'. The flavour is nice and you can sometimes get a tender piece which is wonderful. But if you're buying brisket, it really shouldn't be a gamble which pieces you get - everything is wayyyy over-peppercorned for my taste. I hate eating and biting into peppercorns - it takes over the bite and spoils the taste of everything else for several bites after (including lasting long after I've finished eating). It should be used for flavour not as a crunchy texture - especially in pulled pork where it's not even needed! - the coleslaw is wayyyy too vinegary. I put it on a sandwich with my pulled pork and had to give half away because my mouth was burning from the acidity of the vinegar that had seeped into the entire sandwich. And this was when we were having it again as leftovers when normally the vinegar would have dissipated a bit. The mac and cheese is pretty good, the prices are okay, and the service is really nice. I just wish I jived more with their ingredients.

I stopped by today for the first time after hearing numerous positive recommendations from coworkers. Additionally, a close friend attended a wedding that was catered by these guys, which further encouraged me to give them a try. I ordered the brisket sandwich along with a bowl of mac and cheese also to bite the brisket sandwhich was served with their incredible coleslaw and a slice of pickle which was a nice touch. From the outset, the service stood out. The gentleman behind the counter was professional, personable, and efficient, which made for a great first impression. I was informed that the brisket is smoked for 12 hours, and even hearing that—combined with the aroma—set high expectations. The brisket sandwich did not disappoint. The meat was moist, tender, and packed with flavor. Even after finishing the sandwich, the smoky taste lingered, which is a clear sign of well-prepared brisket. The mac and cheese portion was surprisingly generous for the price and exceeded my expectations. While the pricing is on the higher side, it is absolutely justified when you consider the portion sizes, quality of the food, level of service, and the care that goes into the preparation. I left feeling satisfied and confident that the value matches the cost. Thank you for the excellent food and outstanding service. I will definitely be returning.

All around 5 stars for back road bbq. The head chef is phenomenal at what he does and his hospitality was a great touch. Giving me and my buisness partner samples of the pulled pork before we got our food because he was busy. Food was fantastic. Cannot recommend enough.

Stopped by Backroad Barbecue Company in Port Colborne with high hopes for some classic smoked comfort food. I went all in with the full rack of ribs, and while the BBQ sauce hit the mark with its tangy, smoky flavour, the ribs themselves didn’t quite deliver — a bit too tough and overcooked for my liking. I was hoping for fall-off-the-bone tender, but they leaned more toward chewy. My wife ordered the two-meat combo with brisket and fried chicken, and both were just… okay. The brisket lacked the melt-in-your-mouth texture we were expecting, and the fried chicken didn’t really stand out — not bad, just kind of average. The sauces were solid, but they couldn’t quite make up for the lack of tenderness and excitement on the plate. It’s a cool little spot with a great concept and a lot of potential — but based on this visit, the flavours need a bit more attention to match the inviting atmosphere.

Had the 3 meats combo platter with ribs, brisket and pulled pork and sides of potato salad and mashed potatoes. Serving size was plentiful for my wife and I. She enjoyed the brisket the most because of the fat, while I think I preferred the ribs. Rib sauce is sweet and meat falls right off the bone. Potato salad was another hit for us and I recommend it as a side. Staff were kind and provide useful info when we asked. Highly recommended! Worth the drive from Toronto!
