Avondale Food Stores

Went in to pick up a bag of 2% milk and they were expiring in 2 days. Not acceptable. Asked the cashier if they had anything fresher and she barely looked up from the drink she was sucking on and muttered "No-What is there is all". ( I already saw there was more in the back of the frig). I also looked at the Sparkling Ice Black Raspberry and it was $2.59. Walmart is #1.29 and No Fills is $1.00. Sorry I'm not likely to shop at Avondale any longer. It is not the quality store I am used to. Its been going downhill ever since the Booze took over the refrigerated section at the back of the store.

The one lady that works here is soo rude She is always wearing a mask and then gets mad when you can't hear her. She is always telling customers what to do and not to do. And then tells you that you can only buy a certain amount of lotto When she is working. I just turn around and leave.

Like every other review the old lady working is insanely rude, complained about how much I filled up my slushie, complained about me taking a sip of my slushie AFTER I PAID, puts the scratchers in front of me asks me which one I want then when I try to grab one swipes it away tucks it back in and says you can’t do that even though every other store lets you grab your own. Crazy how there’s all these reviews and she still works there.

I went to this store Saturday June 7 2025 at 2:30pm to PURCHASE something in order to get a toonie back in order to pay for parking atthe beach and she was so absolutely rude for no reason. I picked an item brought it the register and it was more than the $3 I needed to get $2 back and I explained that I'm putting it back because I need $2 change back. She then proceeded to tell me they don't sell anything for under $3 and to go somewhere else. I then picked one of the many items they had that were under $3 and bought it and asked her why she was being so rude. Instead of being helpful simply pointing out any of the many items that were less than $3 she immediately wanted me out of the store .. I don't understand I was not being rude at all I was letting other customers go ahead of me and wasn't even asking for her help. Every item I touched she would say it's more than it was listed at to get me out of the store. Why so rude.. I don't ask for change I was going to buy something to get change !

Be careful with this place everyone. The older lady over charge me last time and I let it go because only for a couple bucks. Today I went into the store to cash out my lottery ticket, the ticket was 2 free play winning. I came home with only one free play ticket and some new tickets that I purchased. I didn’t realize until I got home. She didn’t handing out the receipt, I wondered why?? Just be careful with the older lady with your money or your tickets. 😡😡
